MEXICO: Mexico City votes to ease abortion rules<br>

On 24 April the Mexico City assembly voted by 46 votes to 16, with one abstention, to allow abortion for any reason in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The change has infuriated the Roman Catholic church and poses a significant political problem for President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa.
